Abstract:
Using a surface-grafted initiator, Self-condensing Atom Transfer Radical Polymn. was used in order to let hyperbranched, highly branched, and linear poly(meth)acrylates grow from a silicon surface. The thickness and surface topog. of the resulting hyperbranched polymer are estd. by AFM. The results show that roughness increases with the degree of branching. Due to their high d. of functionalities the polymers might be used for sensors or bioadhesives.
