Abstract:
Using sequential living anionic polymn. we synthesized well-defined linear ABC triblock copolymers from polystyrene (PS), poly(2-vinylpyridine) (P2VP), and poly(tert-Bu methacrylate) (PtBMA). The length of the PtBMA block was gradually increased at const. block length ratios of the PS and P2VP blocks, aiming towards a systematical investigation of certain regions of the ternary phase diagram. The microdomain structures in bulk and thin films were characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), small angle x-ray scattering (SAXS) and SEM (SEM). With increasing PtBMA block size we observe a systematic change in the bulk as well as the thin film morphologies of the block copolymers.
